so. I got two more parts of the slipper done.

I seem to have accidentally made them identical. I have two pieces that go on the same side now :/
which would be more of a problem if i were making a final piece-
luckily, this is just.. the general sort me making a pattern deal.
but still.

in other news, i figured i'd post this ref sheet becuase I've had it at this stage forever and haven't finished it yet- it's for Zach, and i am scurred to do his markings >_o once you see them (if you haven't already) you will know why i am scared. Mehtinks padder is making them in Illustrator for me. (i do not get along with vectors very well, despite how magical they are)

Just finished the inks today- deciding if i'm going to keep the tail on the back view yet- or if it obscures the legs too much.
hrmm.
anyway, still need to sketch up some facials for her, and then draw the tail seperate- close up on the eye, hand, foot.. then the color palatte.
WHOO.

holy shit, she SEWS?!

I'm going to offhandedly blame my father and grandmother- grandma on his side, from whom we inherited most of our sewing equipment, and dad, who is the one who sort of taught me how.

also, my boyfriend, becuase i was almost not at all girly until we started dating. (DAMN YOU, ZACH)

ANYWAY. I figured I'd start with some fun shit from a coupla years ago-
first up, the PIN MAN:

he is a failed experiment. but still useful! I prefer to use him rather than my tomato cushion, but i do use the right pin cushion also when i can find it.

next up, is Iago.

he was slightly more successful, especially when you know it was supposed to be a rabbit (i think?) Anyway. He is named Iago because i made him shortly after i lost a sock puppet i had named Iago, that i made for English class (10th grade- we did sock-puppet theatre of one chapter of Othello) and then i LOST THE SOCK PUPPET. so this is iago now.
I will fix his leg and maybe give him a face.
someday >> heaven knows we have enough buttons to give him eyes at least.

and then last, is my project right now-
I'm making a pattern for a pair of custom slippers i want. I couldn't find anybody else who'd make them, so I'm gonna :3 anyway, this is the sole- sort of.
it's the part that your foot will touch, btu not the outside layer, if that makes any sense. also, this is the same fabric that iago and the Pin Man are made of- it's an old sheet, and it's perfect test material for new designs and such =D
I sort of got tired of using the machine (plus, I'm not sure where it is) so this is my first real foray into hand-sewing, and so far i like it much better, though overall my seams are much weaker than the machine ones =3
BUT I WILL LEARN.
this project also is teachin' me how to finish seams by hand ^_^

so yeah, there's that. I'm gonna do homework now. (no, really) and plan on starting the net bit of the slipper tomorrow :3
