on the left is the current finished version of the BG- i say "current" because I'm still not sure how i feel about the couch-
in the middle is Ren, flat colors and all, and on the right is Ren with a filter over her to make her coloring match the color scheme a bit (i love you, clipping mask + multiply)- might tweak it a bit, in the future. dunno yet, we shall see!

Comics and Painting

first, the comic-
this is something I've had to this stage of completion for... oh.... months, now. it was just about done by December of 2009, we'll put it that way, and i've been putting off scanning it in ever since-
but, well...

I've been putting off finishing it for awhile, finally did it last night, scanned it in just now- the scan is a tad brigher than it is in person, i think, and doesn't fit together -quite- as well as in person, but still...
love how it came out, considering i almost never paint.

this is the background for Kyle's most recent commission-
i've spent most of the day on this (on and off) experimenting with colors and such, and am very pelaed with it so far. It's MOSTLY done, except for the couch, which isn't quite there yet.

sketches and some paint

hokay, first up's a finished charcoal-watercolor bit-
i rather like how it came out overall, even if the colors aren't -quite- what i wanted...
the thing that took the longest here was mixing the brown and white to make the tan, jesus CHRIST, that took a long ass time.


The sketch for the group pic for RF 2010 (theme: Furst on the Moon)- will be selling the slots for this one before finishing.


fixed up the inks on this one, a bit. the background shows through on this JPG because of the way i saved the file, but it's otherwise done on purpose- i'm much happier with the lineart overall now, though. =D

first up, the graphite from last night- did this in... not terribly long and, as the rule states, looked just a bit better irl than scanned.
still, though.


and then, on livestream today, i finished it- watercolored over the graphite. like the overall effect, but it looks much better where i only had to use maybe one layer of paint instead of multiple ot get the right color.
