ZOINKS

ANd jen.. she's turning out quite pretty, I think

yeah, not really an update today, but I figured why the hell not. they're both probably gonna end up kind of bland, but you'll end up seeing them, anyway >>

FEAST YE EYES

this first one's my half of an art-trade with this girl~
it's Jen, who is a Eurasier dog~

And this is a horribly silly idea that i had yesterday...
you should recognize at least two of them. the guy in the middle, though.. his name is Blitch.
Like shag and scoob, he's a skinny-as-hell pansy-ass... and is usually hungry.
though in blitch's case it is because food is kind of hard to come by.

and this last one..
is done because i am tired of working on it, really >_o

I do so love how the colors ended up coming out, though :3 Commission for yaegashi~

colorssss

oh wait, this one does not have colors.

it is a slightly updated/better scan, though.

COLORRSSSS
I got watercolors today, this is me playing with them
the character colors are about right, but the clothes are a little bit off (the pants mostly. Little Sister's jacket a bit, too, but not by TOO much.
and i suck at shading white.)
the lines are from thursday, i think...
and the b/w one at the bottom is adorable.

an update for yaegashi, because.. i am slow. i spent a lot of time today trying to get the colors... different than just orange.
and it just occurred to me that I could do it by altering the hue/saturation, and that i do not need to use special layers.

huderp.

an obvious plan of attack

Here's the basic (current) layout for Storia (the town in which Porta Custodis sort of takes place)..
needs more houses. but this is what i have so far based on what i already know.

Sketch of Little Sister. . .

Sketch of Big Sister. . . I think this will be (more or less) her final facial markings.

finished0ish picture of Big Sister and Little Sister..
it didn't scan too well.
came out beautifully, though. (will replace with a new scan once i've fixed Big Sister's Face markings)

Some sketches of the art style- playing with motion and facial expressions, mostly using Big Sister.

mostly motion sketches. I started out trying to design a few characters that don't show up until the very end, but it failed, so i ended up seeing if i could get the characters to express the movement and emotion that I need them to....
I'm having some trouble with their legs, but the basic structure is there, and it's awesome- I just need to get some more practice.

ohay, i finished something

when i said i would finish it, no less.

defining a style

first up.. a layout/wip of something I'm doing for a friend- to be finished by no later than this wednesday so that he has time to print out copies.
... he's bringing free food to Rainfurrest to help out people who've been misusing their money on art :3

and an update on the commission for Yaegashi.

and all the rest are some sketches trying to pin down the style I'll bs using for The River.
this first one kind of failed.

this one slightly less so O-o

starting to get a better handle on it here, especially in terms of the bodies.

here we go! the head on the far left one is a little too defined, bit this page is getting VERY close to the overall effect I'm looking for.

Here we go!

the question now, of course is "can i repeat that?"

HUMANNNNNSSSS

HUMANNNSSSS. okay.

have been practicing them. I have to say, tessa Stone's cartoony style is, like, perfect, because it leaves almost no confusion as to the appropriate shape of a character's face.
. . . and Sarah Ellerton provides more of a challenge because she uses more realistic face shapes >>

Claudandus is actually {. . .} from Hanna is not a Boys Name. . .
Jonas Faulker is from The Phoenix Requiem. . . and
Hanna is also from HiNaBN
and the girls were attempts at people from HiNaBN and Phoenix Requiem, respectively (failures)- but... yeah.
and the bottom right is kinda sorta supposed to be anya from phoenix requiem

and here's.. conrad from HiNaBN.... a sketch that was supposed to be another character form the same.. some sketches of someone who is supposed to be Petria from Phoenix requiem (fauilures, the lot of them) and then a decent-ish sketch of Robyn, also from phoenix...
a little off, but at least you can tell it's him. sort of.

. . . and this is Dagda from My project Final Absolution.
(i drew his head too big)

and this is redford.
whose head is also too big.
but it's the first time i've drawn either of their heads on model in a long time, so tiny bodies is no big deal atm >>

and here's stephen! from Ports custodis.
this is sort of like the first time i've drawn him on model since i lost some sketches of him over a year ago.
so i'm kind of thrilled.
although his hair is a little too big.

more stephen.
with sort of a longer face/bigger head than i'd intended.

whoooooooooooo it's orange, man

first up, i totally just finished this like.
three days ago.

my half of a trade with This Gal (who is awesome, btw)

next most important is that i am in fact still working on the convention picture for RF 2010, despite the fact that i cannot attend.

and thirdly, here is some commission process for Yaegashi. . . who despite being broke himself sent 12 dollars when i was only asking for five.

now. . . i have this mostly done in Colors for the DS, but i kept forgetting to transfer it to the computer so i gave up and resketched it and scanned it in.

.. the BG isn't supposed to be a gradient, but i was having issues with colors and getting photoshop to work right so this'll be it until i get the character etched in the rest of the way~

look what i've been doing!

Okay, number one here is Sydney Moore, from Final Absolution.
I like. . . everything about this picture above the waist.
I don't know what the hell happened, but i guess i can't draw legs in tight jeans to save my life....
hopefully i can fix it when i go to ink it, because it's one of my breakthrough pictures-
I had a severe "OH I CAN DRAW HUMANS THAT WAY" moment.
it was awesome.

and then this one is Jaqlyn Ross, also from Final Absolution, looking particularly long-torsoed.

and this is rohny, my part of a trade, looking extremely adorable, if mostly two dimensional
